Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

I'm surprised no one has posted this. True to human nature and the way the media works, blame was being placed hours after college students breathed their last breaths, took their last notes, sat in their last class. "Could VTech have done more?" Probably. Stage 1: Mourn? That's my little tirade. But I'm more interested what the FT Community thinks. Gun control? I doubt that's the real problem. Those Columbine kids had their black market assault rifles, not Walmart-issued. American Society? Maybe. -[link]- That link takes you to a timeline of the past 47 school shootings in the world from Feb, 2 1996 to April, 16 2007. 19.1% are from other countries, while a whopping 80.9% is in the U.S. However, that 19.1 is enough to make me think that a great deal of it has to do with bullying more-so than gun control. Tell me what you think. |

What is pissing me off, is this. The guy had two glocks. About 12 bullets each. He shoots. Kills. Here's the kicker. HE NEEDS TO RELOAD. If this was my school, the second that punk ass bitch started to reload there would be at least 50 people ready and waiting to kick his little ass. VTech officials could have done mroe? Yes. Students could have done more? Definately. |

easy to say bleek, but when some crazy motherfucker is poppin off rounds in your classmates you might react a little differently. especially those with no form of military training who might not have ever seen a gun go off, or someone get shot right in front of them. unfortunately, there isn't much way of preventing this sort of thing short of security checks in every building on campus. |

Maybe it's becouse this is NY, but I can safely assure you that we here are ready for pretty much anything after 9/11. Some shit tries to stirr something up, he would probably get shot himself. ALOT of kids here carry around guns for protection, as well as people.

thats true bleek. if i were to see someone whip out a gun, any gun and pop a guy in the head. i would be running for my life. and by the time he reloads i'd either be 1) in a safe spot where he can't see me and i can't see him therefore i can't tell if he's reloading 2) dead so yeah. i mean css is different. when a whole team doesn't rush in after one guy does, you can call them pussies but in rl. when you wanna run up against a guy with a gun. you can be called 'retarded' or 'dead' which ever one fits you better =P |

I for one wouldn't be afraid. People live their lives fearing dieing for nothing. Once you try and save some lives by jumping a man with a gun, that fear is gone, because you can die for something. At least that's in my eyes. I don't know about others.

students discussed how the reloading went. He didnt fire both guns at the same time i believe. only one at a time, and the students said that he looked like he was a pro while doing it. Reloading within two seconds like u see in movies. Like he was practicing for a long time getting everything perfect. If i was a student, i woulda ran up behind him with a fuckin desk in my hands and beat the shit out of him. And yes, im strong enough to hold it above my head and throw that shit 15 feet if i wanted with the adrenaline pumping. My father always told me, the graveyard is full of hero's and assholes, dont be neither. Unfortunetaly, by nature im the hero type who would run up in there and try to save the day. |

bleek just so you know there was an interview with a guy who was in the room when he was shooting and he said it took the guy literally two seconds or less to reload so he obviously had some sort of training or expertise so maybe going after him with nothing but your bare hands would not have been too great of an idea

Tell me what you think. [/quote1177030496] First I got to say I am sick of hearing about these school shootings it is annoying. Ok onto the topic. The true motives are always different then what is stated by the media. Mostly they are just looking to scare people into watching the news. In this instance what could have been done would be to not sell guns to a person who has mental issues. I am talking about document mental issue this guy was committed to a crazy house and was turned away because he didn't have health insurance (dumbest move ever). The fact is mental issues don't go on your police report and so they can sell you guns. You might be right to a extend about us being messed up with to many bullies for some cases but most cases the person is already mentally disturbed well before they go out shooting. It is just the jump start. The reason we have more of them is because we got a lot of people and a lot of diversity. When people mix they fight it is the simple truth and it is just a matter of how hard and with what do they fight. Other country do not have these problems because most are not as big and they don't have as many different cultures pushed next to each other. Bullying is a problem and one that should be stopped but it cant be helped really. In the end things will happen between people and stopping it just make their hatred grow deeper. Unresolved issues burn a hole at your soul and make things so much worse not that I think people should be able to do whatever they want. I am not saying this from a popular person's perspective but as one of the people who was the victim always. Globally hated by everyone. |
