The term robot is used here to describe the daily grind. You are only free from it when you realize how much a rut you are currently in. But Some people are so entrenched that they don't see it as a rut, they don't see anything wrong with it at all. to them their life is the status Quo, the rut the Robotic behavior... and to them everything else is odd. My first post is just a simple question at it's most basic form... how much to you follow the company line... also, how much are you willing to put up with to maintain your level of comfort yet still express a feeling of creativity and uniqueness? |

wanna know something fucked up? Aside from the fact that I seriously do have psychotic thoughts. When I was a kid I used to imagine getting older and creating a bomb that would destroy everything on the face of the earth, like factories, skyscrapers, etc. But we would have those tiny bomb shelters to live in underground during when the bomb goes off so everyone would live, but all the technology would go away and we would restart our civilization. It is totally unfathomable, but where we are going is not good for the earth, or the people living on it. this "robot" lifestyle you speak of is our entire middle class, and because of it is slowly destroying everything we know | ||

hmmm... zero... people would be so used to the way things were already going, they'd just re-create the same world we were living in in the first place. I agree though.. when i was younger, i wanted to take maybe a rifle or something as the only peace of technology (and ammo, i guess lol) and take it out into the wilderness, and survive by hunting and shit... I'm kind of sick of technology sometimes. Then again, getting rid of the technology doesn't get rid of the repetitive tasks we have to do in life |

I totally agree with you. But with all books destroyed and without the fundamentals we have now, as minor as power tools, and as major as fucking Factories, we would have to actually GO BACK IN TIMEZOR to a time that would suit our culture. We would farm, and hunt, and shit like that, and we wouldnt be destroying the earth with our pollution as much. Our earth would be healthier, our population would I HOPE go down becuase we wouldnt have the middle class society, and we would go back to a time much like the middle ages. Sorry for the tangent. Im just saying, if I did that with my technology destroying bomb, people would realize that we need to change what we are doing, and stop being so selfish, and trying to better ourselves. People would realize "oh fuck, we are dumbasses" People like George W. Bush are looking for alternatives to retrieve FOSSIL fuels, the worst thing for our atmosphere. But people that we turn our heads to, like AL GORE and JOHN KERRY are looking for alternatives to fuel intirely, such as biodiesel, and shit like that. |

I hate democrats, I'm just letting that out. I'm kind of like you Zero. I sit in school and to pass the time I just sit there and think of ways I could hurt people. Yeah, when I was younger my dad was an alcoholic. I went to foster care, away from my mom and my family. Came back, now I'm poor. All I can think about is ruining the fuckers that used to make fun of me for being poor. I pass the people that live in the big mansions and sit there stuck up like little shits because their daddy bought them a car, and here I am struggling to save up to buy a car that doesn't even cost 2 grand. Even though I don't believe that our military doesn't fight for our freedom like they used to, I still want to die a hero. Next to the people that were almost or just like me, that had nothing comming for themselves and wanted to make something out of themselves. I believe that I have no purpose as of now. And I've always sat when I was younger and even now more then ever, as myself as a hero. Watching the movies of dirt flying in the air, explosions rockin by my side, the constant yell of my fellow soldiers. It just makes me wish I was in even WW2 to die for what was right. I would do anything to have fought on Normandy beach, those guys were heros. I hate technology nowadays. We just travel in stupid units, there's never that intense firefights, the bombs blowing up right beside you. I want that adrenilene flowing through my veins as I'm about to go into battle. That's just who I am, the guy that wants to show everyone who he really is. And what better way for corrupt politicians to fuck it all up. I wouldn't care if I heard a nuke was going to be dropped on me. Hell, everyone would leave. I wouldn't move. I would just stay there. I wouldn't feel any pain, I'd just die in an instant. I don't see why everyone wouldn't just stay there and let the nuke drop right on them. People bitch about how terrible life is, so why not just die right there? It's clearly evident there is going to be an uprising within our government because more people like myself are seeing the corruptness and downward spiral our government is headed to. I know that the purpose of this thread wasn't to hear me rant on about how I want to die or what I think about the government, but when Zero mentioned of who he wanted to be, that just gave me the thought. I can say that a military life living fighting for what you believe in would be a change from the robotic routine that most humans live on. But it's all changed anymore. Technology just does everything for everyone. There was a thread about 1 or 2 weeks ago about the growth of computers and how soon enough they will be doing everything for us. I liked doing shit on my own and feeling good about doing it and earning it. What would be the point of a "hard worker"? We'd be unsatisfied with everything having something else do it for us. There's your fucking robots for you. Once we have the technology to make literal robots, what is the purpose of even living life? We're just going to be a bunch of fucking careless hedonists. |

THat was a very well written post.... seriously. I find no flaws in your logic at all allow me to build on what you've started. I consider myself educated. I went to a parachial school from K-8 (for free cause my mom's a teacher there), a vocational high school (learned drafting as a trade) and am now finishing my 3rd year of college (civil engineering major). I also read a ridiculous amount on everything from strategy (Sun Tzu) to economics (Ben Graham) to philisophy (Aristotle) to psychology (Robert Greene, Cialdini) to literature (Shakespeare, Dante). I feel as if I'm a well rounded person with a very open mind and no... general biased or preconceived perceptions of the world... especially people. Now... with that said it's often difficult to determine people's true motives in today's society. Yes, I have become adept at reading people and judging character, but more often than not people don't even know what they're trying to accomplish. (as night alluded to in himself, he knows... roughly where he wants to be... but not how to get there exactly) But he has a leg up on the game... he knows where he wants to be... and more importantly has (I feel) a realistic outlook. Which may (unfortnately or fortunately depening how you look at it) be based entirely on the hardships he's already faced in life. Alot of people don't have the faintest ideaas to what is real, or what to expect and end up with absurd expectations for how their life will play out and are ultimately doomed to suffer massive dissapointments during seemingly minor setbacks. (you lose your job, you total your car, you go to jail, your girlfriend breaks up with you, etc) They expect what they see in movies. They expect how fiction portrays life and pay no attention to non-fictional information all around them. Constantly trying to will the world into performing to their expectations. Anyway my point in all this is to try and shift your paradigm to a more realistic mode of thinking. Understand that life isn't fair, it never has been and it never will be. It's tough, it's harsh and the only way to survive is to toughen yourself, physically and mentally. (survival of the fittest is not a crock of shit) Remember, you can't change people. But you can change yourself. NoSkill out. |

Goddamn right. You don't take life easy for others if they do not make it easy for you. You let those son of a bitches know that you live one life only. And what better is it for them to try and fuck it up for you? Especially fucking terrorists. If they do exist as our country portrays them to, then I'm all for running over there with a fucking M16 and lighting the shit out of them. If it's for oil so we can be apart of the nice little economic rich shitty scumbags that seem to control the world, then give me the m16 to fire at my government. Whatever happened to the Democracy that we started about 240 years ago? What happened to "Give me liberty or give me death"? I know what fucking happened to it. We got too cocky. The "Political Machines" that arisen back in the 1800s started the government being ran by the rich and high corporations. Call me biased, or whatever the hell you want, but that's what I honestly believe. You can't even carry a gun without a permit. Doesn't that contradict our amendment "A Right to Bear Arms"? Why do they have that amendment in the Bill of Rights? We don't even have a fucking Bill of Rights anymore. Everything is controlled by statutes, judges, and corrupted cops. I honestly believe that no matter what president we elected it wouldn't have mattered, and we'd have been in that war no matter what. Of course, it would have been nice to have a President that wouldn't almost die via choking on a pretzel, but you can't have everything you want. The fact is, the world you see portrayed in movies is going to be something like what is going to happen to America. Our time here living "Free" as what we call it, is going to end soon because we're digging ourselves into a shithole with no way out. That's why (For all of you conservationists) You live your life to the fullest. You're going to die anyways, might as well make your stay on earth as fun as you can get it. Sure, I'm going to make something out of myself somehow, either die in the Army, or get a degree and make some cash. But once I earn that cash, there's no doubt I'm going to use it to my fullest and do whatever the shit I want. Then I'm going to laugh in the face at all of the people who had their mommies and daddies help them all through there life, and get everything they wanted when they were a little kid. That's going to make my life better, knowing that I didn't fuck up and they did. |
