I'm glad everyone doesn't believe it's going to happen because I think it's just going to be just like any other shitty day that was proposed to end. I mean look at the Mayans. They pulled people's hearts out and that was how they sacrificed. They couldn't predict that Spain was going to completely obliterate their asses, so why should we trust them with our future? I know these guys are the "Greatest Timekeepers" but seriously, I trust my 21st century astrologers more than I do a bunch of indians that looked at the sky and came up with some batshit insane predictions. The sun's not going to boil the earth because it'd have to be a red giant. Sunspots are at their lowest in centuries, so that knocks that one out of the water. Not to mention that the earth's magnetosphere protects us from the sun's radiation thus adding more unto the fact that the sun would have to be a red giant. A polar shift would take millions of years to happen. The explanation for the increase of earthquakes and volcanoes erupting are simply the cause of tectonic plates moving. They've been doing it for years now. Why should a sudden increase suddenly have people shitting their pants? Aliens aren't going to come to our planet. Get real. The earth's poles switch with the sun every 11 years. Oh no, they coincidentally switch on the year 2012. I was fine in 2001, so I'm fine now. Could those disturbances possibly attribute to September 11th? -gasp- A pattern! Sigh... Planet X was discovered in 1983 using infared. It was estimated to be 50 billion miles away from the sun. In 2004, notably 21 years later when technology has improved, it's 7 billion miles away. Does this mean planet X is speeding towards the earth? No. There are 7 other planets in the way of it hitting us. Don't you think a planet like Jupiter would have a thousand times more gravity than us, and pull it in? Why would it head for a planet like ours? Not to mention, for a planet to move 7 billion miles in 8 years would defy logic alone. I could keep going on about these types of predictions that NASA themselves say aren't capable of happening for thousands or perhaps millions of years. As I had said before (I think), I'm looking for a breakthrough in technology. Cure for cancer, cure for most diseases, regeneration of arms, etc. Those are all possible with stem cell research. Maybe the atom smasher they're working on will be the life changing breakthrough. I severely doubt it would be capable of creating a black hole and sending us all to oblivion. However, many questions could be answered with that device alone, so personally, I believe that's going to be the "life changing" event that is going to happen. The only reason something will happen on 2012 is if some crazy guy who hasn't showered in weeks, has a bad case of twitch, and a self obsession with fulfilling the Mayan prophecy of change makes it happen. Assassination of presidents, etc. Who knows? Like everyone else has said, just live your life and worry about the shit that's going on today whether than tomorrow. Whether it be religion, or whatever you believe in, you're better off keeping those types of things to yourself. Live your life like it's your last day and make the best out of it. Lmao, there have been tons of false predictions for the "end of the world as we know it" since who knows when. Just like people claiming to have a "machine to change the weather" in the 40's, radical theories on how women are jealous of men because of their dicks, etc. etc. They all sound good at the time, but when you reflect back; it was just a stupid idea. What makes this different? I sincerely doubt that the world will end 2012. Although; there are so many things that could kill us right now that I can't even count. The world could end/major destruction any day. |

I think we should look at what's the reason in attempting to identify the world's end? sort of like what wolf said. why think about the Armageddon? We aren't gonna change, and we'll keep continueing to go to school, do our jobs, and take these stupid little tests in school! and do homework, and write bunch of essays consisting of 10 pages about some stupid writer!..... sigh.. | ||

You know, we've had this thread like 40 different times, and people have been misinterpreting Nostradamus and the Mayans for decades and then saying, "Oh, we were wrong at first, it's really this time. We misinterpreted them." These threads are fucking dumb. And we've had like 30 of them. It's not going to happen, and if the oceans flood because of new tide patterns, then I'm gonna sit on a big ass boat with a couple of beers and a pack of cigs. It's not true and there is no reason to worry about it. You're all just impressionable idiots who spend too much time on the internet and too little time with your heads in the real world. It's more likely that a serial killer will hunt all of us down and kill us than anything any of you have suggested in this thread. |
