one of mah boys is trippin a lil right now, really rumbling to pieces and falling apart by the seams...and one thing he seems to say over n over again is that hes not in tune with reality, and that hes bipolar and i was thinking one way i become in tuned with the world is i try and see things from the point of view that someone else might and that seems to work, for me. except his, i can't see things they way he sees things its weird he follows no form of logic as well , however hes in med school so hes got to know some solid things...such a weird situation.. Just start writing. You get to make characters that make you question your own perception of reality. Some will have to disagree with you, some have to be craven fools, some have to agree with you. Seriously, start writing a short story. There is no other way to understand people than to use effigies of them to create conflict. It kinda made me a misanthrope though, so watch out. |

its a really sad case imagine a friend u knew, since u were about 10 or 11 untill now, a buddy that u used to do alotta things with, a best friend u might say. imagine that guy COMPLETELY change into a weak, fragile old man who can barely do anything. at the age of 19. who lets life and his problems overwhelm him, i actually sheded a tear... |

Med school is no joke man. It's funny how we describe healthcare as an industry and service even though we deal in the care of people. With all the shit they throw at you and the sheer number of hoops they make you jump through to become a doctor is fuckin' ridiculous. That's why most end up with a smokin habit, a drinking problem, and a twisted sense of reality. So it's nothin out of hte ordinary from all hte med students I talk with. I'm in hte process of applying to pharm school myself and I know it twists you in all sorts of weird ways. To say that I didn't shake apart at the seams a few times would be a flat lie but you end up with a new, and most of the time, cynical view of the world. And I still don't even know if I got in or not as of yet. It's like they should be giving us all the help in the world but instead they just pressure you into persevering into a reliable professional. Some people just can't take all the shit they throw at you. If your boy has half a head on his shoulders he'll get through it but you won't understand how he thinks when, most of the time, med students view people as charts, symptoms, and complications. You just have to be able to take a step back and take a look at where all this onslaught of information is going into. That is, it's making you into a person who can make a decision that no one else in the room can make. Sure the pressure will never disappear but the education he's getting will make him responsible for the very lives of hte people he treats. He's going to have to find some confidence in himself. It isn't a bad thing, in fact its a pretty fuckin powerful thing. Grown man shit. |

I had a buddy who went to med school in the Bahamas, got a reciprocal license in the states... This kid had like a perfect fuckin life lol... perfect... then he sold drugs because life was just too easy for him... now he's an associate doc for a pediatric dentist... makes like $120k+ a year... and just... fuckin does whatever the hell he wants... I dunno... adversity doesn't form or change a person's character... it only reveals it. |
