I just found out this morning that my grandpa has been hospitalized. He's had Alzheimer's for a while now, and it is about his time to go. I will probably be on today or tomorrow, but if you don't see me for a week or more, this will likely be the reason. Love you all and hope to see you more than I currently expect too. |

=( I love my grand pa (pepe). He was a Korean war vet... he had the most awesome stories. Like there were a group of Ethiopian soldiers in with his unit and they would play this game where one would stand in the middle of the circle blindfolded and they would take turns punching him in the face until he guessed who it was. They asked my pepe "Hey John you want to try it?" To which he responded, "No thanks guys... my mother won't let me play that game." =D Anyway good luck man. |

I visited him today. He can remember stuff from way back in the day when he was in Korea too. He was telling me about Turkish soldiers who would go out with nothing but knives and come back in the morning with ears and fingers strung around their necks. He's real drugged out and unshaven. It doesn't look like my G'pa anymore. |

yea, the old war stories. My grandpa was in WW2, and all his stories started with his famous line, "When I was in the army..." He had this grin on when he said it. Be strong man, and stay with him. I know its hard, and dont freak out if he doesnt know you at one point. Its not his fault. I walked into my grandparents house one day, and my grandpa screamed at me to gtfo my house. Chased me out the door. He didnt know who i was. I was only 12. Its fuckin heart breaking man, but you have to be strong, for you and him. Again man, best of luck to you and your family.
