Oh I'm so down. I still play zombie escape sometimes on CS:S. Never gets old. So down for Office.
Also 15 years for me. Fuck man we are getting old as shit.
Also, loving Back 4 Blood. Highly recommend to everyone who enjoys coop zombie action. I play on steam. gLiTch handle was retired with FT. You can find me as theRemedy on Steam friends.

Super down for a rerun. I think we all have some old connections to plan something ahead of time, on an updated game, or even outdated, for all of us to do an event on. I would look forward to that very much

That would allow a person with 1 post to get in with 7 the one post to start is intro of course. I think that is way to easy. I mean you could just say that all them have to make 30 non spam post with a intro thread. |

Well, what if they talk to you on xfire, steam friends, etc, and read up on the forums but don't actually post anything because they don't feel that their input is necessary (i.e. spam, subjects that have no relevance, topics you know shit about) ... They are still communicating with the members of the community, are they not? They are still active on the forums, are they not? They are kept up-to-date with FT's current affairs, they still have a bonding with the members, and are easy to get along with, but they choose not to blindly post all over... Is it necessary to punish them for being too selective? They choose where and when to post and these times are scarce throughout the months, but should this not grant them access into the clan? You have to take into consideration that you cannot post in FT community clan forums if you are not FT!!! How can you input your thoughts into the clan's discussions if you aren't a part of the clan?! Do you see where I am coming from? The majority of non-community clan threads are mostly spam, it's very difficult to get the thread count up except for posting in FTC forum, philosophy or banned/misconduct... Why bother with the post count? We already established post count has nothing to do with anything, its a matter of people knowing you. Getting the minimum doesnt mean anything except that you are eligible, just get rid of it. If you dont post, people wont know you, will know you dont post, and will vote no. Simple. | ||

So you would rather them hurt themselves? If your talking about xfire that means they are most likely not talking to everyone. I know that at the very least that means they are not talking to me since I don't use xfire ever. I am sure there are others who do not use it ether. This means that more people have no idea who they are. If you watch the votes often times people will loss because of "I have no idea who they are I vote no" votes so by not posting at all really they are hurting their own chances. I personally just don't vote when I don't know them at all but I know plenty will vote no instead of non involvement. You may be right that it makes them wait longer if they have to post something that contributes to the clan even if it is spam of sorts but not all spam is the same. Like Wu he would spam quite a lot but it contributed he made all kinda stories about him and his family and stuff like that. Spam of that nature I am sure most people will agree is acceptable and you can fight that those are legit post. Also even if they are selective of what they post are you saying there is some huge rush to expand? Do they really need to get into the clan that fast? Personally I don't see the reason to make the whole thing faster because some people are to shy or selective. This is a community clan and sorry to say but voting people in is really a popularity contest. If no one knows you then you stand no chance of winning a popularity contest. In essence you trying to speed things up will most likely just yield more failed proposals. |

I know for a fact, that if we get people into the clan that deserve it and have been here for ages and who WANT to be in the clan, they would get into FT, and start posting more. I know we arent thinking of a select view, but one person imparticular. and as Jesus said, they feel they cant really post on the forums, so instead they keep in contact with everyone(mostly) through Xfire and Steamfriends. they saw that they had a flaw, no posts, and no way to fix it. so they went OUT OF THEIR WAY to get involved in the community elsewhere with other options. This isnt the fact that, if say a boy named Timmy came into the server, and everyone loved him. and he was just about to make 100 hours, but he didnt post but two times, we would want him in right when he got to 100 hours. This is about the people that have 300 and some hours in FTC, who WANT INTO THE CLAN, and ARE involved, behind the scenes or not, who deserve to be in this clan, I mean hell, even more then I do for how long they waited. We want them in, but we dont want people voting no for specific reasons like vote count. |

I personally just don't vote when I don't know them at all but I know plenty will vote no instead of non involvement. Uhh... Ok, so because you don't have xfire, you will vote no? Others, if they don't use xfire, they at least have Steam Friends... That keeps them in contact, right? People that vote no because they don't know who the person is... is because they aren't in FTC all the time to get to know the people. If they aren't in FTC, then they can't get the person on Steam Friends or Xfire, but there is still the introduction thread You may be right that it makes them wait longer if they have to post something that contributes to the clan even if it is spam of sorts but not all spam is the same. Like Wu he would spam quite a lot but it contributed he made all kinda stories about him and his family and stuff like that. Spam of that nature I am sure most people will agree is acceptable and you can fight that those are legit post. So you want people to make more fictional, incestuous and fucked up stories? Gotcha. If they have been here for eight months and still have just a few posts on top of their introduction, would you say that is a short period of time? How long do they have to wait? A year? A year and a half? People have been with the community a very long time, have hundreds of hours on the server, talk to people on Xfire and steam Friends, but haven't ventured down to the site yet, or they have, made an intro and haven't really desired to post but they have still constantly visited the site to keep up with current affairs Are you saying that these people who have been here longer than newer members, myself included, are trying to get in FT too quickly?! In essence you trying to speed things up will most likely just yield more failed proposals.Who said shit about "speeding things up"? They are just warranted nomination without the post requirement, it doesn't necessarily mean that it is an obligation to put them up for a nomination! Just because we remove a post minimum doesn't mean that they can still wait a year before getting in!! How the hell does it speed it up?! All it does is eliminates a barrier so that people who don't feel obligated to make a schooling fish post allowance into the clan! To clarify my above post: It can speed up people's entrance, but it doesn't necessarily mean that it is going to.. People can still be left out (Gage) no matter how many non-spam posts, and many others who don't have the posts (Saucey) can get in. Saucey has buttloads of hours on the server, most of the regs and admins know him, he only has around 13 posts, and he is well liked... He doesn't have much to post on and therefore half of his posts are spam. He only recently found out about the fourms, but just because you don't know him doesn't mean that everyone else doesn't either. Sure he will be in the clan a bit quicker than everyone else, but if you take someone like Kever into consideration, she has about 13 posts in nine months. Are you saying that if we eliminate the barrier and she gets nominated it will be too quick? It grants those without the immaturity to spam useless shit entrance into the clan so they can input into community clan affairs such as this one. Without permission to post into something like this then what do they post?! Edited Thu Aug 23 2007, 08:33PM |

I can say that there are people who do not use those means of communication in our clan. Since I didn't have a good example ready I used myself. How many people do you know that go out of their way to find out about a person they dont know that is being nominated most will just say no your no one I know. There is a good chance even if you play ftc and so dose the other person that you may never meet. Even if you do meet it is no certainty that they will leave a lasting impact something to remember them by. So your saying the whole thing will rest on the intro thread. What if people don't read it or don't feel they truly know someone because they learned they exist and a few facts about them. Personally I don't judge people by their age, sex, exsperence, and just about anything you could talk about in your intro it is the person themselves that gets judged. I judge them by personality and without a fair amount of contact it is hard to determain this. Maybe they will make a lot of action to talk to every member one on one? I see that as unlikely but in the case they acully accomplish this wouldn't it have been a lot easier to just make some post? wrote ... You really don't know what a example is???? I am sorry I will write a extra 50 pages to define what every form of acceptable spam and post is. Use your damn brain I don't treat you like a dumbass so please stop acting like one. I was giving a example of a type of spam which was no spam. Your trying to take it as the only thing people can do. just for your info here is what example means. 1. one of a number of things, or a part of something, taken to show the character of the whole: This painting is an example of his early work. 2. a pattern or model, as of something to be imitated or avoided: to set a good example. 3. an instance serving for illustration; specimen: The case histories gave carefully detailed examples of this disease. 4. an instance illustrating a rule or method, as a mathematical problem proposed for solution. 5. an instance, esp. of punishment, serving as a warning to others: Public executions were meant to be examples to the populace. 6. a precedent; parallel case: an action without example. –verb (used with object) 7. Rare. to give or be an example of; exemplify (used in the passive). wrote ... Also even if they are selective of what they post are you saying there is some huge rush to expand? So your saying we should just throw away the rules and say welcome? Everyone here is quite able to follow the rules if their dedication to get into the clan is so little that they cant even bother to post a little then really how much do they want to be in? Also where in your proposal dose it say anything about 8 mounts? What you proposed would work for anyone with the hours. wrote ... All it does is eliminates a barrier so that people who don't feel obligated to make a schooling fish post allowance into the clan! It is more then possible in speeding them in. It just give them one less thing to do to get in there for it is faster. Even if you only spent 10 sec posting all 30 post you will still save time. It is imposable for them not to save time if they can just be voted in with hours. If you say it could take time for them to get invited in well could it not have taken that plus post? Without permission to post into something like this then what do they post?! First lets start with I do know saucy so don't assume who I do and don't know. Assuming makes a ass out of you. If kever wants in so bad I don't think that posting a bit is really that much to ask. This is a community clan but if she is not involved with the community but rather only the FTC community then she is not really a part of the community. The forums are a way that people from both servers talk and get to know each other not just people from one server. Is it really to much to ask that she get to know the rest of the community? Well I guess kever is a bad example of that because she is very well known by the community though probably not positively. In fact I play with kever a lot in game I have enjoyed fighting a tough opponent but I don't know her in the least. If put to a vote I would have no idea who she truly is. I would probably vote against it since I don't have a feel of her personality and I know little other then the problems we had with her a while back. I really don't think 30 post is asking to much of someone if they are really dedicated to get into the clan. Why do you feel it is so much trouble? I want a good reason why people shouldn't have to take the time and/or effort to make some post. Zero wrote ... Pockyninja wrote ... Also your still on about people that deserve in? Why do they deserve in because of time spent on the server? So just because they been here for 2 years they shouldn't have to deal with forums and they should just be let in and no one should vote against them because they don't know them? I don't agree I think they should at least be willing to make the small sacrifice of time to post. Why should we bend the rules to them? We been fine with the rules up to now people who truly wanted in did their post and got in. Now all the sudden these people deserve to be in so much that they can't be asked to take any effort at all to get in. Also why do they have to get in so very bad? Is there really such a huge benefit from being in the clan? I mean I do enjoy being a part of the clan but no one gains something from becoming FT. You still have the same server privlages, the same ability to act in the clan and just about everything is the same. All you gain is the ability to set forum rules, entry rules, and determain who is in the clan. It isn't like they can effect the server they are on any more from within the clan then outside of it and if they really don't care about anything other then the server then I don't see any real reason they could possibly need to be in the clan other then to have a fancy ft tag on. Do not get me wrong I do enjoy being a part of this clan and I am not insulting it in the least I am just saying there is no real benefit for someone who dosen't use the forums at all aside from a tag. |
