Phate brought this up about an hour before i was going to. The current steam group enables ANYONE in the group to throw on the FT tag. I was talking to Kremit and we are trying to find out who actually runs the steam group. That person needs to transfer that power over to someone else who is extremely active or just grant all officers full power over it (with the exception of a few officers). I got this idea from a clan called "Section 9" where they have two steam groups. One for regulars where they get to throw a tag on called "WAR SEC9" or something along those lines...and the actual clan members are in another group who get to throw on "SEC 9." Currently i created a new group called "Fish Tank Community" which can be found here -[link]- This group will have all the regulars and members. It is public and you should invite EVERYONE on your friends list. This is the best PR possible. Every time an event is made or an announcement, every member gets a popup on their desktop. If there are 300 people in the group, when an officer makes an event or an announcement, 300 people get a popup letting them know what is going on. This is great for getting servers populated. The tag for this group will be [GUPPY] and if you see someone wearing that in the server, know that they are an FT fan and part of the public steam group. The original Fish Tank Clan steam group also has every member/regular. This needs to change. All those members/regulars already got invites to the new steam group by me (i did it individually). When we get control over the group, i will kick everyone who isnt an ACTUAL FT member. Then i will make it an invite only group. It will be an exclusive group for FT members only. It will have the FT tag and private clan announcements can be posted there as well. Edited Fri Jul 13 2012, 01:32AM |

[GUPPY] is the tag for that specific group...as in, everyone in the public group can wear that tag in our server to show support that they are Fish Tank regulars. Once i get everyone invited, we will hunt down the old group creator and kick everyone out of it except actual FT members. I want the original group to be exclusive to members only who get to wear the FT tag. As it stands, 207 people can wear the FT tag...which is not good..lol. |

But is that only relating to our server? or in CS as an entirety? Like, could I just wear the FT tag without being a member anyway? | ||

Every group has an abbreviation. If you go into multiplayer options and go to advanced...you will see "clan tags" as an option. Every Steam Group you join has a tag/abbreviation that shows up in game before your name...such as the Fish Tank Clan group which has a tag "FT." Every single member in the FT steam group can use that and wear the FT tag when in fact they are not in the clan. This includes 207 people. So if you were in the Fish Tank Clan steam group, and you were not a member, you could wear the clan tag anyway. This is not right so i am fixing this. I made a community group so people in that group can wear a second tag showing they are fans/regulars of Fish Tank servers. The ACTUAL members of Fish Tank will be in a second exclusive group where we can proudly wear our FT tag. Get it now? |

You can. It wont look uniform with everyone else though...but that is fine. It is entirely up to you. I am just saying this is the only way to fix the issue of having 207 people all wearing the FT tag. Steam groups are VERY important with getting this clan up and running and popular again. When i create an event such as "Log onto Fish Tank Office now for some fragging! We are back!" with it linking to the server IP, 207 people get a pop up on their desktop showing that exact announcement. The PR is awesome and it is what will put us back on the map.
